Summary: How to enter into a partnership with God.

“Thy will be done”

Matthew 6:10

“Father, if Thou be willing, remove this cup from Me, nevertheless, not My will, but Thine be done”

Luke 22:42

“Understanding the will of the Lord”

Ephesians 5:17

A. INTRODUCTION: GETTING GOD ON YOUR SIDE

1. A destroying thought . . . everything that happens is God’s will.

2. A demanding priority . . . the will of God is not automatic.

3. An extraordinary idea . . . you can realize God’s will in your life.

4. An incredible privilege . . . God allowing you to cooperate with Him.

5. A transforming promise . . . God aligns Himself with praying saints.

B. INVITATION TO PARTNER WITH GOD

1. Prayer is an essential ingredient in God’s will and His work.

2. You partner with:

a. God’s name.

b. God’s glory.

c. God’s kingdom.

d. God’s power (the Lord’s Prayer, Matthew 6:9-13).

3. You are implementing God’s will on earth, not yours. Saul’s prayer that turned him into Paul the apostle, “Lord, what will you have me do” (Acts 9:3-6).

4. How do you enter into a partnership with God? “We are partners with Christ when we are steadfast (in prayer)” (Hebrews 3:14, ELT).

C. STEPS TO YIELDING

1. Surrender/yield your failures . . . hurts . . . doubts . . . anxiety. “You become the slave of whatever you choose to obey . . . choose to obey God” (Romans 6:16).

2. Surrender/yield your selfish desires . . . self-glory . . . self-will . . . sins. “Do not let your body be an instrument of evil . . . give yourself completely to God” (Romans 6:13, NLT).

3. Surrender/yield your bodies. “Give your bodies to God” (Romans 12:1, NLT).

4. Surrender/yield/seek. Commit to do God’s will.

a. God has a will (Mark 3:35), which is His desire/choice.

b. God has a plan. “I know the plans I have for you . . . they are plans for good and not for disaster” (Jeremiah 29:11, NLT).

c. God has a goal for your life and ministry. “For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him” (Philippians 2:13, NLT).

If you have never really accepted Jesus as your personal Savior, would you do it right now? Do not delay or put it off. If you would like to receive Christ by faith, pray this simple prayer in your heart:

Dear Lord, I acknowledge that I am a sinner. I believe Jesus died for my sins on the cross, and rose again the third day. I repent of my sins. By faith I receive the Lord Jesus as my Savior. You promised to save me, and I believe You, because You are God and cannot lie. I believe right now that the Lord Jesus is my personal Savior, and that all my sins are forgiven through His precious blood. I thank You, dear Lord, for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

If you prayed that prayer, God heard you and saved you. I personally want to welcome you to the family of God and rejoice with you.
