Why Suffering?
Help your church understand God's plan in pain
Many times in our lives we want to go unnoticed, stay hidden, and fly under the radar. Why? Because it’s easy. We don’t want to stand up for what is right or speak our minds. We are afraid of what others might think. We may have a reputation to uphold. Or maybe we don’t want to offend anyone. But our purpose on this earth is not to play it safe and just be another face in the crowd. God created us so that we may go against the grain and change our way of thinking. He tells us not to conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Scripture: Romans 12:2

We have been trained by culture that we must find our value by our online presence. So we post the best pictures, stories, and moments of our lives for others to see. We get a rush when others like our photos or leave comments. Why is that? Are we finding our acceptance in the wrong places? Are we finding worth in all of the wrong places? How do we avoid getting sucked into the demand for likes and find our truth worth in our Creator? Can social media be a good thing? How can we avoid it owning our lives?
Scripture: Psalm 139:13-14
