  • Sermon or series that made a difference: Series titled: It’s the little foxes that destroy the vine. Series titled: Beware the weeds, it’s time to clear the clutter.
  • One of my favorite illustrations: My favorite illustration is in the 23rd Psalms when its says "Surely Goodness and mercy shall follow me." When I hear that I envision two angels. One named goodness and one named mercy, literally following me wherever I go. I like that comfort and assurance.
  • Family: Eldest of 4 children, raised in a small town called Peoria, IL. My mother is an ordained evangelist, and my father is a deacon. I am married to a beautiful woman named Lisa. I have two sons, Chris and Joe, and one stepson, Micheal.
  • What my parents think of my sermons: They are my biggest fans and critics. That’s why I love them, they are honest.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Be true to God and to yourself. Always keep Psalms 51:10 in heart, and don’t make people glad to see you get up, and glad to see you sit down. Keep it simple and short.
  • Books that have had an impact: Psalms 51
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: God is good all the time, and All the time God is Good!
  • What I want on my tombstone: He Loved the Lord!
