About David
  • Education: BA Roberts Wesley College; MA Wheaton College
  • Experience: Staff bible teacher in several churches; college professor; author of reference books on the Greek NT in the Learner's Greek NT Series
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: As a on-going student of NT Greek, I devoted years to the development of books designed to make the Greek NT accessible, readable and understandable to people who could not retain the Greek learned in school.
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: 1 Corinthians 13--the life-changing way of harvesting God's deep love for use in the service to needy souls
  • One of my favorite illustrations: I told the one about Jonah swallowing the whale. It got attention.
  • Family: Wife, isabel
  • What my parents think of my sermons: My parents liked my sermons but now are too busy listening to the angels sing.
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: She tells me what she doesn't like, what i should not have said, how I should have said what I said wrong and, sometimes, "It was good today."
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Keep you eye on the Lord not the storm.
  • Books that have had an impact: I Do Not Have The Faith To Be An Atheist
  • Hobbies: Writing, one-day car trips; feasting at Las Vegas buffets
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: God loves you in a way you have yet to see. You will never exhaust your effort to understand his love.
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: During a wedding service, a young woman, the sister of the bridegroom, fainted and hit the platform with a thud loud enough to be heard in the next room.
  • What I want on my tombstone: Home with Christ
