• Comment to those looking at my sermons: I use a rather odd outline format. Some of it is detailed sentences, other parts are short phrases and abbreviations. Sorry if they confuse. I often put the Scriptures directly in my notes as this helps me stay focused and keeps me on time (more-or-less).
• Sermon or series that made a difference: imagine... HEAVEN! A series looking at what Heaven is and will be like.
• Family: Married in 1973, loving wife, 4 adult sons (& daughters-in-law), 14 grandchildren.
• What my parents think of my sermons: My Mom & Dad say they are very proud of me being a pastor.
• What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: I'm afraid to ask! :-) Really, she says they are very good.
• Best advice given to me about preaching: "If you can't say it in 20 minutes you're probably saying too much. Most of Jesus' sermons took less than 20 minutes." Advice from one of my Uncles who was a pastor for over 50 years. Can't say I've had very many sermons that stay within the 20 minute mark, but I use his advice as a goal to keep me focused on getting to the point of each sermon.
