M.Div. studies, Church of God Theological Seminary
Comment to those looking at my sermons: I hope God uses this sermons to bless your life, ministry, and family. All I can say is that preaching is not what I want to say to the people but about what God has to say to the people through my life.
Sermon or series that made a difference: The Armor of God (7 sermons)
Message to the 7 churches of Revelation (7 sermons)
Family: Nohelia Roa, wife
Joshua Javier, son
What my parents think of my sermons: They think I should preach longer.
What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: She thinks I should preach shorter.
Best advice given to me about preaching: Pray before preaching. Let God direct you. The preacher is like a medical surgeon. He needs to observe the needs of his church before he can operate on Sundays.
Hobbies: Reading, traveling, writing
Something funny that happened while preaching: The first time I preached I thought it would be the best to memorize my entire manuscript. As soon as I started preaching, I forgot completely what I was going to say. I had to make a prayer service that day.
What I want on my tombstone: Javier Chavez, a servant of God.
