What is freedom really? We are not truly free until we are free in Christ.

  • Grudges And Guilt

Contributed by Jerry Cosper on Jun 22, 2022
     | 172 views

We have been talking about some of the things in life that set us back. We've talked about betrayal, temptation, the injustices of life, just plain hard times, and bitterness. When we are involved in any of these, we tend to become plagued with guilt and grudges.

For the past couple of months we have been talking about some of the things in life that set us back. We've talked about betrayal, temptation, the injustices of life, just plain hard times, and bitterness. Today I'm going to wrap all of this up as we talk about what these things can ...read more

This message today is about bitterness but I think we are going to find that it’s more about forgiveness.

  • Hard Times

Contributed by Jerry Cosper on Jun 1, 2022
     | 617 views

Life is full of ups and downs. God wants us to always stay focused on Him when times or good or bad. Don’t give up on God, but don’t forget about Him either.

  • The Injustices Of Life

Contributed by Jerry Cosper on May 18, 2022
     | 576 views

Life can throw many hard things at us. We may even be tempted to let our hope in God fade. We want to scream, “Where is the justice?” As we move along a little further in Joseph's life God would want us to be encouraged that he will always see his children through.

Today I want to talk about the injustices of life. Have you walked through a season when you couldn't seem to catch a break? Did you ever wonder if good days would ever return? Maybe you lost a job around the same time a loved one died. Or you were going through a painful divorce just as ...read more

God wants to hear from us and He wants us to listen closely to Him. Try some of these methods and see what a difference it makes in your prayer life.

So far on Wednesday nights we have looked in detail at preparing ourselves to pray. We have looked at Breath Prayer, Contemplative prayer, Disciplined or Centering Prayer. Tonight, I want to take just a few moments and talk about the Prayer of Examen and then just a little bit about Prayer ...read more

  • Betrayal

Contributed by Jerry Cosper on May 10, 2022
     | 308 views

Betrayal takes a while from which to recover. Trust must be rebuilt.

The Lord got me to thinking about the many pitfalls that we go through in life. So I thought for the next few weeks we'll see what instructions the Bible can give us on how to overcome these pitfalls. Today I want to specifically talk about the pitfall of betrayal. You know trust is a ...read more

  • Preparing For Prayer

Contributed by Jerry Cosper on May 10, 2022
     | 162 views

An overview of how to truly prepare yourself before you go to God in prayer.

I have shared with a few of you the past few days or weeks that after the Bible study in the Book of Daniel I was thinking about explaining and giving detailed instructions on centering prayer. I haven’t done that in a number of years so I thought it would be good to discuss it this evening. I ...read more

  • Temptation

Contributed by Jerry Cosper on May 10, 2022
     | 256 views

Through the life of Joseph, the Bible gives us an example of how we can move beyond temptation and make the right choice.

Have you ever been tempted? Sure, you have. Things that catch our attention flash before our eyes and we feel the urge to respond. It might be that second helping of chocolate cake. It might be some ad in a commercial that advertises something that we don't need and can't afford. A ...read more

  • Disciplined Prayer

Contributed by Jerry Cosper on May 10, 2022
     | 131 views

Disciplined prayer is a prayer method that began in the 4th century and is used to quiet the static in our mind, reduce the mental noise and improve the receptivity of our communication with God.

Tonight we're going to take a look at yet another type of Prayer. This prayer is known as disciplined prayer. I know as we are looking at different types of Prayer you're going to hear a lot of repetition because as I said before, these techniques tend to overlap each other. But think of ...read more

  • Contemplative Prayer

Contributed by Jerry Cosper on May 10, 2022
     | 91 views

Contemplative prayer is much like two lovers in love with each other. In contemplation we use new approaches or tools, if you will, to hear God more completely, intimately, or thoroughly.

Mark 1:35 – “35 Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he got up, went out, and made his way to a deserted place; and there he was praying.” This verse reminds me of how important it is to get away by myself and totally focus on God as I pray. Two weeks ago, we spent some time talking ...read more

  • Daniel's Vision Of World History Part 1 Series

Contributed by Jerry Cosper on Mar 30, 2022
     | 160 views

In the first part of this vision that God gave Daniel, we see that God wanted Daniel and all succeeding generations to know the major events of world history up until the very end.

Last time we spoke about this great cosmic warfare being fought for the souls of people. The warfare is being waged by the angels of God and the angels of Satan who are locked in a constant fight to influence the behavior of people and nations. We got a glimpse of this warfare in the previous ...read more

  • Daniel's Vision Of World History Part 2 Series

Contributed by Jerry Cosper on Mar 30, 2022
     | 233 views

What we are about to see in the remainder of this vision is future prophecy that has not yet occurred. Beginning with verse 36, the king referred to in passage is the Antichrist who is to arise in the last days of human history.

Last time we looked at the first part of the vision given to Daniel and saw that the events in the vision have now already occurred in history. We stopped at Daniel 11:35. There seems to be a definite break between verses 35 and 36. What we are about to see in the remainder of this vision is ...read more

  • Being Tested

Contributed by Jerry Cosper on Mar 30, 2022
     | 770 views

Life will always test us. We can't escape it. But in all of our tests in life we have to include the testing of our faith. In order for our faith to be strengthened it has to be stretched.

When I was a teenager, I used to deer hunt on a lease in Leakey, Texas. These are not mountains by any chance. But even in the Hill Country of Texas it can be challenging to get to a hunting spot on the side of one of those hills. I got the notion one time to climb to the top of the hill. What ...read more
