Something funny that happened while preaching: During a sermon I made the statement, "God wouldn’t put up with some of the crap in our homes today." My wife’s mouth hit the floor. My congregation’s eyes widened. After the service I apologized, to which one of my deacons replied: "You just called it what it is."
What I want on my tombstone: Quit Staring. I’m not here!
