  • One of my favorite illustrations: Betsie ten Boom was imprisoned and brutally treated in Ravensbruck Concentration Camp during World War II. Before dying there, she said to her older sister, Corrie, "If ever you get out of this place, go and tell the world that no matter how deep the pit, He is deeper still." No matter how deep the pit, God is deeper still.

  • What my parents think of my sermons: They were very proud of me and thought I reminded them of my grandfather who was a well-known minister in our denomination
