Managing Self-Awareness
Contributed on Sep 26, 2023
Secular psychologists have developed methods for dealing with Low Self-Esteem. But what does the Bible teach concerning this matter? This message offer three principles for dealing with self-esteem based on Scripture.
Intro Last week we introduced the subject of self-awareness. Self-awareness is a fact of life. God made us in such a way that we are aware of self, aware of our interaction with God, aware of our interaction with other people, and aware of our interaction with our environment. The self-awareness ...read more

Contributed on Sep 4, 2023
In this exposition of Hebrews 11:1-6, the nature of faith (v. 1), understanding by faith (v. 3), and essentials of faith (v. 6) are explored. "Without faith it is impossible to please God." Therefore, the subject is of supreme importance.
We take our text today from Hebrews 11: the great faith chapter. Being Light
Contributed on Aug 14, 2023
The Beatitudes teach the qualities that God works in the character of Christ's disciples. Then in Matthew 5:13-16 the emphasis turns to the influence Christians are to have in the world around them. The point of our text is that we let our light shine.
Intro Immediately following the Beatitudes, Jesus uses two metaphors to declare the task given to his followers in the world. Those two metaphors are salt and light. We have examined the first one. Now we want to learn from the second metaphor, light. Our text today is Matt 5:14-16: "You are ...read more

Being Salt
Contributed on Jul 31, 2023
Immediately following the Beatitudes, Jesus turned the instruction from character qualities of his followers to their function in the world as salt and light. Matthew 5:13 warns about failing to function as salt.
Intro We have found in our study of the Beatitudes that a certain kind of person is blessed (approved and favored by God). This follower of Christ has the same characteristics developed in him that we see in Christ. He is poor in spirit, mournful of anything that does not glorify God, meek, etc. It ...read more

Desiring More Of God
Contributed on Mar 27, 2023
A. W. Tozer prayed a prayer that I can identify with. Perhaps it resonates with you as well. Here is the first part of his prayer. “O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need for further grace. I am ashamed of my ...read more

Appetite Killers
Contributed on Mar 27, 2023
If we want our appetite for righteousness to grow, we must avoid appetite killers. This is true in the natural. Every parent knows that kids who eat too much candy will not have an appetite for the healthy food at dinner time. The same is true with our spiritual appetite. If we snack on the things ...read more
