Movie clip from "Just Married" (Used as an introduction to "dealing with Divorce Part 1")

Scene Setup:

Tommy and Sarah have returned to the States after an amazingly bad honeymoon in Europe. Even though they were just married, they have separated. Tommy is sitting on the couch at his Dad’s house, when his Dad gives him some wise advice about love and marriage.

Scene:

Tommy’s Dad asks, "You gonna tell me what you’re chewing on?"

Tommy answers, "I just don’t know if love is enough anymore."

"What do you mean enough?"

Tommy says, "I mean even if Sarah and I do love each other, maybe we did need more time to get to know each other."

The Dad replies "So, what you’re saying here is [he picks up a photo album] you had a couple of bad days in Europe and it’s over. Time to grow up Tommy."

Surprised, Tommy asks, "What?"

His Dad responds, "Some days your Mom and me loved each other. Other days we had to work at it. You never see the hard days in a photo album. [He opens the album to a photo of Sarah and Tommy kissing]. But those are the ones that get you from one happy snapshot to the next.

I’m sorry your honeymoon stunk, but that’s what you got dealt. Now you got to work through it. Sarah doesn’t need a guy with a fat wallet to make her happy. I saw how you loved this girl. How you two lit each other up. She doesn’t need anymore security than that."

Renewed with hope Tommy thanks his Dad.

Tommy’s friend walks in at the end of this conversation and asks "Is it over?"

Tommy says, "Not even close!" }
