One winter day in 1975 we were diving on an American submarine, USS Bass, off Montauk Point, LI. At a dept of 165 feet the visibility was not good. My dive partner became disoriented and wanted to return to the surface. He wanted to go up, but in his confusion, was trying to pull himself down the anchor line.
