Media Saturated Kids: American kids spend an average of 8 hours and 33 minutes in media each day (including TV, radio, music, print resources, computers, the Internet and video games) according to a Kaiser Health survey. Kids often multi-task by using more than one form of media simultaneously, so the actual amount of time spent is 6 hours and 21 minutes. Up 1 hour and 4 minutes in the last five years. Video games and computers had the biggest time increases this year. Today 68% have a TV in their room; 54% a VCR or DVD player; 49% a video game console; 37% cable or satellite access; 31% a computer; and 20% have Internet access. (Pastors Weekly Briefing 3/18/05)
