Gideon was an unlikely candidate to lead Israel against the Midianites, but God often uses the weak and inadequate. Our service to Him is not dependent upon our wisdom or ability, but it must rely on the Lord through faith.

David faced a great challenge as he stood before Goliath. It was the greatest miss-match of all time, and yet he was triumphant. We too face giants as we strive to serve the Lord, but like David, we can overcome in the Lord. Christ secured victory for us!

Elisha and his servant were surrounded by the Syrian army. The servant was fearful, seeing only the enemy. Elisha was confident, seeing the host of God about them. We tend to see only the adversity, but fail to see God. He is able to meet our needs.

The three Hebrew men faced a great dilemma - bow to the king's image or face the fiery furnace. When confronted by the king, they were quick to respond. Our God is able to deliver; but if He doesn't, we still won't bow. We need that type of faith today!

With Peter in prison, the church prayed continually for his release. When God answered their prayers, they lacked faith to believe. We can overcome in Christ, but we must possess faith to believe the Lord will provide.

The greatest triumph ever recorded was Jesus' resurrection from the dead. His victory over sin and death provided victory for every believer, and the promise of eternal life. We have nothing to fear because our Lord has risen as the Victor!
