Summary: Now both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding…Jesus should always be invited to the wedding and should be asked to stay for the marriage!

John 2:1-11-On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there.

Now both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding.

And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no wine.”

Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does your concern have to do with Me? My hour has not yet come.”

His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.”

Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, according to the manner of purification of the Jews, containing twenty or thirty gallons apiece.

Jesus said to them, “Fill the waterpots with water.” And they filled them up to the brim.

And He said to them, “Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast.” And they took it.

When the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom.

And he said to him, “Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!”

This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him.

Last week we seen how the Word revealed who God was and this week we will see how works reveal who God is!!!

Jesus is not just for Sunday’s but for everyday life, if that were not true, John would have started telling Jesus earthly ministry with Him clearing out the temple!

Now both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding…Jesus should always be invited to the wedding and should be asked to stay for the marriage!!

I am afraid that many times in peoples lives Jesus on the outside looking in waiting for the invitation to be asked in!

Learn to run to Jesus before you climb on the rocking horse of worry, Jesus will take you farther, faster!

On the third day-After Jesus had called Peter, Andrew, Philip, Nathanael they made a 23 mile trip to Cana, it took them three days to get there, I guess they could have hoped in there Honda car and drove….Oh, you didn’t know the disciples had car? It says in Acts the disciples were in….One Accord!

When they ran out of wine-Life doesn’t always go the way we plan it (You want to make God laugh, tell Him your plans!)

Whether the problem was just embarrassment of running out of wine or a fine or tax for running out wine, it was still a real problem.

The mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no wine.”-She took the problem to the source of were help could be found!

"Oh what peace we often forfeit, Oh what needless pain we bear,

When we do not carry, everything to God in prayer."

Had did she know He could even do this, meet this need? Was it mother’s intuition or did she reach all the way back to the events of His birth.

My hour has not yet come-Jesus Wants to be on God’s time table not anyone else’s and we should be too!

His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.”-This is good advice not only to them but to anyone!!

Life would be a lot easier for us if we would just do what He tells us, because sooner or later we wind up doing what He wants anyway!

Using water to turn into wine and master of the feast commenting on the fact that the best wine was saved for last, just shows God uses uncommon ways to get His point across…and what was the point of all of this? Manifested His Glory!

Glory-means all of His character, all of His attributes, all that God is.

Every miracle that Jesus did, He did it to meet peoples needs.

For Jesus to love us is great, for Jesus to tell us He love us is great, but for Jesus to show us He loves us is better!!!

He doesn’t just talk about how much He loves us, He shows us how much He loves us!!!

Oh, How He love Us
