Summary: Bad theology is still bad even if it makes "great evangelistic" preaching.

Luke 23:43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

I do not know where this heresy about Jesus going to Hell started, but it is clearly wrong. No demons beat on Jesus, He did not wear ours sins as a disguise to enter Hell. He did not become the first born-again man.

He bore our judgment on the Cross, God's wrath was poured out Him there. He had no need to go to Hell. Hell is where the wrath is poured out on those whose sins were not forgiven as is the Lake of Fire

There is no Scripture that says Jesus was beaten by demons. The demons spoke to Jesus and knew Him from before the foundation of the earth so there is no way He could have sneaked into Hell even with our sins as camouflage because at least some demons watched Him die and possibly satan himself was there, but we do not know because the Word does not state who was there from enemy's camp.

Just because He descended to the lower parts of the earth does not mean He went to Hell, Paradise, Hell and a great divide were in the lower parts of the earth. He said He and the thief would be in Paradise. That is it. We know He preached and that when He ascended He emptied Paradise and gave gifts to men. We know that Hell was enlarged apparently taking over the Paradise side now that it was empty and no one goes there anymore. Those that die in Christ go immediately to Heaven to be with the Lord.

That He went to Hell is a product of someone's imagination. Demons beating on Him makes an exciting sermon except it is not true. Jesus did not tell the thief that today He would drop him off in Paradise while He was on His way to Hell. He said they would be together in Paradise. End of story. Anything to the contrary is vain imaginations and corruption of the Word. If you watch a guy on TV or your pastor holds to this you need to the channel and leave that church. If they said it and later hushed up about it, you should leave as well.
