Summary: Jesus is showing us the path of life, and He wants us to see Him while we are on this journey. Just like Moses had to turn when he saw the burning bush, God wants us to see and turn from the direction we are going and to follow Him.

Did You See Jesus Walking?

Psalm 16:11

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

I am entitling this today: “Did you see Jesus walking?”

In Psalm 16:1 we see where David is asking God to preserve him; He is letting God know that is where his trust is.

David had an understanding of who God was and he was going to trust Him.

David was being led down a path that was taking him somewhere.

We are all going down a road this morning and that road is taking us somewhere.

Look at your neighbor and say, “My road is taking me somewhere”.

Many people look to other things besides God, and that will never lead them down the right road.

David had a Godly heritage, and because he was willing to listen to their counsel, God had him on the move.

Psalm 16:7

I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.

Christ by dwelling in a human body “learned obedience”

Hebrews 5:8

8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;

9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

Jesus did not have to learn to be obedient, because that would imply that He was a sinner by nature, but He learned obedience which is a whole other thing.

In other words, he had to go through it, this life.

David had knowledge that God could and would instruct him during the night season.

Job 33:14-18

14 For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not.

15 In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed;

16 Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction, 17 That he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man.

18 He keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.

David knew that God was a God who would give him counsel, and was able to instruct him in the night seasons.

According to verse eight, David had set the Lord always before him and he was not going to be moved.

If we, as believers, always set the Lord first then we will not be moved.

Are we setting the Lord first in our lives?

Is Jesus at your right hand?

Do you know that God is your answer and you will not go under?

Psalm 16:10

For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

This verse pertained to Paradise which is where the believer would go before Jesus came and died upon the Cross.

When Jesus died, He went to Hell and He took the keys of death from Satan.

When it says: neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

Christ saw no corruption in the grave simply because He atoned for all sin; therefore there was not any doubt that He was raised from the dead.

Psalm 16:11

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

The path of light is the Resurrection.

Christ would be elevated to the very Throne of God.

Heb 1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

Psalm 16:11 says: Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

At thy right hand, there are pleasures forevermore.

Hebrews 7:26-27

26 For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;

27 Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.

Jesus is making intercession for you this morning.

I have entitled this today; “Did you see Jesus walking?”

3-31-11

I dreamed that Susan and I were pulling out from a driveway onto the road. I saw Jesus walking; I asked Susan, “Did you see Jesus walking?” She said “Yes”. We were going to turn the vehicle around.

Interpretation
