Summary: You deserve rest on every side. You deserve a peaceful life. Claim this promise from the covenant-keeping God.

GOD SHALL GIVE YOU REST ON EVERY SIDE

“And the kingdom of Jehoshaphat was at peace, for his God had given him rest on every side” (2 Chronicles 20:30).

Rest is a blessing promised to every child of God (1 Kings 8:56), but we tend to lose this benefit when enemies revolt against us and weigh us down with several vices. God didn’t promise us sickness nor trouble, so you deserve rest.

When Jehoshaphat, the king of Judah, rested from those foreign invaders (the ammonites, Moabites, and men from Mount Seir), God set an ambush against them, and struck these invaders with such confusion that they fell upon their friends as if they had been enemies, and everyone helped to destroy another, so that none escaped. What a great victory! Enemies kill each other.

“This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army, the battle is not yours, but God's. The battle in your life is not yours but God’s.. Seek his face. He will arise and fight your battle, and give you the rest you desire. No more sickness, no more worries, no more poverty—when God gives you rest on every side. Please accept Jesus as your Lord and savior immediately, if you have not done so.

When Jehoshaphat and his people prayed to be delivered from their enemy, they sang praises to God, and God enriched them with the spoil of the enemy; it took them 3 days to collect those valuables. (2 Chronicles 20:25). After he has destroyed your enemies, God can transfer the wealth of your enemies to you.

What are the troubles in your life? Are your enemies much like the Midianites that laid siege on Joshua and the Israelites? God instructed Joshua to sound the trumpet, and “when the three hundred trumpets sounded, the Lord caused the men(Midianites) throughout the camp to turn on each other with their swords”(Judges 7:22). Pray to God, and He will give you rest on every side, and you will live a peaceful life . If you repent of your sins, he will accept you and deal with your enemies.

You deserve rest on every side. You deserve a peaceful life. Claim this promise from the covenant-keeping God (Deuteronomy 7:9).

Remember that Jesus is coming soon. Are you prepared?

PRAYER

Heavenly father I want a change in my situation and seek your intervention. Please forgive me of my sins and cleanse me with the blood of Jesus. Kindly put an end to my sickness, poverty, struggle, and evil. Please give me a perfect rest on every side so that people may know that you, whose name alone is Jehovah, are the most high over all the earth, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
