Summary: Jesus leaves but now his mission becomes our mission.

"Jesus’s Mission is our Mission” Acts 1:6-14

1. Jesus’s Mission was to preach the Gospel” says Matthew 4:23Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in the synagogues, preaching the good news of kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.

• Jesus Mission was to preach repentance Luke says 31Jesus answered them, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 32I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." .

• Jesus mission was to bring life 10The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and life in abundance or have it to the full.

• Jesus mission To die for sinners (Ro 5:6-8). While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Seek and save the lost

• To give remission of sins (Ac 10:43; Ro 4:25). . 43All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name."

• His Mission set the Prisoners free those imprisoned by the devil. Imprisoned by sin greed addictions hate, many are imprisoned by sufferings pains those that grieve, imprisoned by Fear anxiety Jesus said to his disciples, “Do not worry” (Matt. 6:31).

2. Jesus gave us a mission its: witnessing. Jesus tells the disciples that once the Spirit has come upon them and empowered them, they will be his witnesses in Jerusalem, all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth (v. 8).

• In the first-century world, when someone was enthroned as king or emperor, that new authority would take effect through heralds going off throughout the territory announcing the good news: “We have a new king.” This was good news because the arrival of a new king meant the restoration of order. Imagine for example, a new Roman emperor coming to power and heralds being sent as far as Britain and Spain and Egypt — literally to the ends of the empire — to announce the emperor’s enthronement.

• The Shepherds at the Birth of Jesus 17When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child,

• God told Paul the Lord said, "Take courage! As you have testified about me in Jerusalem, so you must also testify in Rome." The lady at the well went to the town come see a man that told me all I ever did.

3. Jesus’s Mission it seems to be a sense of urgency about it

• As the ascendtion is taking place hear the urgency in the 2 men 11"Men of Galilee," they said, "why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven."

• It sound like Now is the time, It’s Now Time to witness, worship, let’s get going

• We are to Go share the love of Christ Go bind the wounded,

• Go help the brokenhearted, Go Be peacemakers, Go tell what you have seen heard,

• Go tell the world Jesus offers forgiveness and salvation to all

4. This Mission was on Peter, John, James and Andrew; Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew; James son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot, and Judas son of James. along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers. Now this Mission is on us

• It wasn’t just the men but women as well, they believed powerfully can’t give up

• Jesus mission is our mission “This is On Us”

• This mission we are pardoners With Jesus

• This mission will impact, transform life’s including ours

• This mission asks us not to stare at the sky’s but to GO

Our Mission is His Mission preache the Gospel, Witness, Do it with a sense of urgency
