Summary: We live in an age of insomnia despite all the pills, beds and other devices.

Matt 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Depressed people sleep a lot hoping for physical rest to restore their soul. Sadly, sleep does does not heal the weariness of soul, spirit and emotions. So much in life drags down those parts of our life. If we trust in our own strength we are quickly defeated and beaten down. We do not have enough reserves to recharge quickly and like a battery the more we recharge the less our strength and time we can handle the burdens.

When we come to Christ and allow Him to be our strength it is astounding how our physical strength seems to be increase because our spirit, soul and emotions are supernaturally energized. We cast our cares on Him ending that huge burden we have been carrying. We no longer live in fear of the future as we have read the back of the Bible and know we win. We also know that because He loves us we will endure our trials and our failures are forgiven giving us strength and freedom from guilt as we confess and move on in His love.

The circumstances in our lives may not change and may even get worse, but as we learn of Him we can put on His yoke making the load shift to Him balancing the burden and in essence making It lighter. Knowing His heart will give you strength because you will not see Him as afar off and uncaring. You know that He has bent down in love to sustain the child He both birthed and adopted in redemption. He can feel your wounds and the hands He extends are scarred from His act of love for you.

Isa 40:29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.

30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:

31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Are you weak, heavy laden? Are you faint without might or strength? Ah, then my friend you are a prime candidate to take on His yoke and receive power and strength! Just come to Him for salvation. He died and rose again for you. Ask Him to forgive your sins and make you His child. His arms are wide open. You just need to humble yourself and see your need for His salvation. Receive the gift of eternal life and His love He gives to the prodigals that come home.

Speaking of prodigals, my dear brother and sister have you strayed or just took on way too many things He never meant for your bear? Draw close to Him and He will draw close to you. Return to Him to have your sins forgiven. Receive the new robe, shoes and ring He longs to give you. He is not far away. He has never left your side. You just closed your eyes and walked in darkness. Open your eyes and confess. The light will shine again your heart.

Maybe you just tried to take on life on your own. You thought all you needed was to be saved and after that you could handle anything or everything would be glorious. Life is not always glorious, but He said He would be with you in the storms to give you peace. When He tried you did not let Him because it was not the way you wanted Him to handle it. You wanted to be independent expecting Him to just clear the way and hold back the storms. Come to Him confessing your inabilities, your pride and allow Him to heal and lead you. He is enough. You will see. Maranatha!!!
