Summary: AS CHILDEREN OF GOD WE MUST BE PREACHERS OF THE GOSPEL BUT WE MUST NOT EVER FAIL TO BE MINISTERS OF THE GOSPEL AS WELL.

(Luk 10:30) And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.

(Luk 10:31) And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.

(Luk 10:32) And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.

(Luk 10:33) But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,

(Luk 10:34) And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.

(Luk 10:35) And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.

I CAN RELATE

The man had been robbed, humiliated, wounded, forsaken, and he was half dead.

I know what it is to have something precious and to have it all taken away, to feel like Satan and the world have robbed you.

Before Christ I knew humiliation, and I knew what it was to be wounded, for I was bruised and battered daily by sin.

I knew what it was to trust in someone and to be rejected and left for dead(spiritually speaking).

I had feeling in my hands, feet, and I knew emotion, and felt hunger and thirst. I was alive outside as a man but on the inside I was dead in the ditch of life. I couldn’t feel conviction, I couldn’t feel the joy, love, peace, contentment that you only find in Christ Jesus who is life, the only true lasting life. I was a walking dead man.

I was waiting in the ditch half dead, waiting for religion to pull me out, for a friend to pull me out, but all failed, and I remained humiliated, robbed, wounded, and forsaken in a state of death by sin.

PRIEST the EXPERT of the LAW

The priest was a holy man, he was expected to remain pure and sanctified from sin, he no doubt was just simply trying to live right and according to the law.

PRIEST and the DEAD v.30)

(Num 19:11) He that toucheth the dead body of any man shall be unclean seven days.

Maybe this is why he crossed over to the other side of the road. I simply just did not want to take the chance of being involved in sin. He may have been afraid of the dead.

(1Pe 2:24) Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

(1Pe 2:25) For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

Thank God that he did not forget the dead.

There are those in the world (family, friends , co-workers) that are in seemingly bad situations, and sinful states, that sometimes we are afraid to be involved with, but church people don’t get saved when the Body of Christ the Church of God walk away to the other side of the road.

SOULS are WON on the OTHER SIDE OF THE ROAD

Souls are not won in the safety and security of our church house, and our four walls. Souls are not won in the safety of your recliner at home, and souls are not won in you parties and groups, but souls are won right were they are , not were you are. I dare you to cross over to the other side were evangelist only dare to go.

2 GREATEST COMMANDMENTS

(Mat 22:37) Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

(Mat 22:38) This is the first and great commandment.

(Mat 22:39) And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

(Mat 22:40) On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Sometimes just as the Priest we can attempt to become experts of the law and try to fulfill all of the word in our lives and completely miss the objective. That is legalism, and it does not save souls. While trying to do every thing right the EXPERT missed the two greatest commandments. Simplify your attempts to be righteous and walk in the righteousness of Christ Jesus. Quit trying to meet up to a standard and let Love be your standard in all that you do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
