A farm can only go on so long without a harvest. · It can become a "hobby farm" · A hobby Farm does not need a harvest to exist. Afraid many of our churches have become ... "hobby churches". You see everything depends upon the harvest at harvest time!
2. What is The Harvest You Are Waiting For?
Why do Christians celebrate Harvest? The simple answer is, it is an opportunity for us to thank God for everything He has blessed us with.
We have seed time where we plant the seed. Great care is taken to plant the seed (the word) into the world which is the field. The soil is tilled up. You have the water (doing ministry) and the harvest is the result of what is planted. My question is this though. What happens in between you planting the seed and it being harvested?
One of the most important Kingdom principles that you will ever understand are the laws of the harvest. That is, you will get what you plant. If you plant okra, you will not have a harvest of vine-ripe tomatoes.
5. Harvesting Our Potential For God
We have seeds of righteousness to plant so we can have a harvest for the Lord. My son’s collection of acorns taught me something about potential.
Re-examining the Harvest Feast (Feast of Weeks, Pentecost)and it’s continued importance to us today and our stewardship.
7. The Harvest Is Plentiful But The Workers Are Few
A sermon given to Winchester’s City-wide gathering of 8 churches (called "Mission Winchester") as the start of the build-up to a huge city-wide mission.
8. The Time For Harvest Is Now
Never before has the Church had such a vast opportunity to have revival and reap spiritual harvest as we do "NOW!" We know what to do... but we simply need motivation.
Missions is the nearest and dearest thing to the heart of God. In this passage Christ shares His burden with His Disciples.
Jesus knew that because they were without God and they were therefore without hope. Do we see people like that? Do we feel compassion for them? That is our need, to feel compassion because of their need. Jesus saw the multitude and was moved with compassion for them. May we do likewise.
In the account of the woman at the well in John 4, we will see that she serves as a good example, to all who truly desire to be a Harvester for God.
