2. God's Invitation

In Zech. 1:3 God extends an invitation to his people for something better! Entry to that is through the door of repentance. This message focuses on the STRUCTURE of the book with an outline and the INVITATION to a discouraged people.

The oracle given in Zechariah 1:12-17 is expounded. These comforting words are applicable to God's people today. We sometimes wonder when God will intervene in our behalf just as the Jews did in our text.

Message focuses on the sovereignty of God, divine retribution on nations that oppress God's people, and God's vindication of his elect. This word of comfort and assurance has timeless application for God's people of all ages.

The Jews in Jerusalem were thinking too small in their expectations of God's goodness. God's future for his people is so abundant that man-made walls could not contain the blessings. Jerusalem will be a "city without walls."
We are becoming familiar with the book of Zechariah. For most Christians, it is a closed book. This exposition of Zechariah 2:10-13 is a message of hope and encouragement for God's people. Israel had endured humiliation and hardship when carried into captivity by Babylon. But God is working a plan for those who love him that is absolutely glorious.

12. Zechariah's Seventh Vision: Wickedness Removed

This vision of a woman in a basket constitutes a promise from God to His people to remove wickedness from their midst. The previous vision (#6) was about removing individual rebels. This vision is the removal of the wicked system energizing sin.
