About Timothy
  • Experience: I have been preaching since I was sixteen yrs old. I announced my call to preach July 2, 1985. I have pastored Friendship now for eleven years.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: You are really going to need the Lord to help you get something out of it. I know I do.
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: The series on the last days.
  • Family: Wife Lisa R. Two sons, Timothy Paul, age 15 who announced his call to preach last year. Caleb Hayes, age 11, and one daughter, Hannah Marie Shirley. She is 7 years old.
  • What my parents think of my sermons: I guess that depends on which sermon. But all in all my parents are supportive. And this is good since both of them go to Friendship.
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: When I ask her, and I always ask her, she always say’s it was good. So this makes me beleive she is just being nice.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Just preach the word and love the people in the church. I was given this info by Bro. Gerald England. A great man of God and one of my Dearest Friends.
  • Books that have had an impact: Dispensational truths by Clarence Larkin. I also have recieved help from M.R. Dehaan, Oliver Green, Dr. Harold Sightler, and Author Pink. His gleanings books are very informative.
  • Hobbies: I don’t really have any hobbies. I am a sheep farmer. I have around 40 head of suffolk sheep. Other than working on the farm I am busy with the church and helping the different workers of our church in their field. Such as the Jail ministry, and our youth functions.
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: Lift up your heads, for your redemption draweth nigh.
  • What I want on my tombstone: Finally!!!!!
