We are called on to continue Jesus’s work. We are called on to be shepherds, witnesses of God’s love. We are to be there for each other. We are to care for and support one another. We must put ourselves in the path of evil when necessary.

John 10:11-18 is part of a longer discourse in which Jesus tells his disciples and us that he is the way to heaven and eternal life. In this passage he explains this concept by comparing himself to a shepherd. The image of a shepherd was one that was common among members of his audience. Palestine more

  • Jesus Watches Over Us

Contributed by Craig Condon on Apr 25, 2015
    based on 1 rating

Jesus referred to himself as the good shepherd so that the people would know what he was talking about. Jesus was preaching in Palestine, and sheep were quite common in that area. Sheep are not very smart though. They were easy prey for wild animals.

How many of you have pets? I have three of them at my house right now. I have three cats. One is a sixteen year old male named Rusty because he is rust-coloured. • Jesus Is Our Good Shepherd, But What Does That Really Mean?

Contributed by Gordon Mcculloch on Apr 27, 2015
    based on 1 rating

Jesus the "Good Shepherd"; is a very under estimated phrase. What does this truly mean, and where is the power in this expression? Does the enemy have a similar policy? You will be surprised.

Welcome Grace and peace to you from God our Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen Today we look at that passage again where Jesus tells us that he is the Good Shepherd, and there are a lot of references to sheep, so I warn you before hand, ... it has a powerful ending though. Many do not believe in the devil any more. Many choose not to believe. What does the Bible have to say about him and the destruction he wishes to bring to each of our souls?

This week a friend of mine posted a video on facebook that showed the results of four teens texting while driving. Three of them died and the last one will never be the same again; mentally or physically. Did they know of the dangers of texting while driving? Did they just ignore the danger more
